Google Day 5 Nov. 27
During the workday today I transcribed more of "When You Go" and practiced singing. Some of the parts I cannot identify the correct note, but I am starting to see that I can hear the note in my head and can sing it. I have high hopes for recording! I hope it will sound much better sung than a computer piano.

Google Day 4 Nov. 9
Yesterday, as I did not have access to a piano for the workday, I enlisted Shannon to teach me to sing because she is in choir and a talented singer. I did not want to practice by myself, but I was also too shy to sing in front of anyone. Eventually I got over my fright by listening to the song on full volume and sing quietly along so that I can't hear myself. It worked quite well, and I felt much better singing in front of people. I still have a long way to go, because there are many notes that are too high or low to sing, plus there are several lines of harmonies that I am still discovering. In all, however, I feel I am making significant gains.

Much Accomplished Nov. 5
Yesterday I spent a few hours working on transcribing "When You Go". I found all the chord changes for it, which was extremely helpful, and then I got to work writing the harmonic lines. The melody was quite simple and easy to write, but the other parts are much more difficult. After that, I practiced singing them, but I don't know how it sounded from the outside of my mouth. I will probably need to enlist someone in choir to help me, because after a while my throat started to hurt. But all in all, I made substantial gains.
